Georgia Folk Artists Arrive at TUAC for Bluebird Folk Art Village

Freedom Chicken Whirligig, Chicks n’all, and Ms. Nosey are some of the titles of creative and fascinating folk art works arriving at Thomaston Upson Arts Council for the October 9th Folk Art Village Sale and Reception.  Arts Tourism brings dollars and jobs to our local hometowns and  the 2nd Annual Bluebird Folk Art Village is expected to be a highlight this weekend drawing area folk art fans to visit and shop in downtown Thomaston.

Bluebird Artisan Guild and TUAC have teamed up to bring Southern and Georgia Folk Arts to Thomaston this weekend during the fall festival on the square.  Folk Art Village Sale and Reception is located inside the TUAC Gallery on the square next door to the Ritz Theatre, and is free and open to the public as a community service.

“Self taught folk artists keep our local culture alive and well,” states Patti Robinson, Founder of Bluebird Artisan Guild, “we are so appreciative of the Thomaston Upson Arts Council and Carmen Ellerbee, Executive Director, for making this October Exhibit of local and Georgia folk artists possible.”

Bluebird Folk Art Village promises an array of folk art including Sam Granger’s Paintin’ in Public, Clayshapers, The Art of Anne Jenkins, Mag Moment, Restoration Jewels, R.
